Director of Development
Delta Waterfowl Foundation is pleased to announce an outstanding professional opportunity with our organization.
We are seeking an energetic and qualified individual to be the new Director of Development. This is a key position that requires the further development and execution of Delta Waterfowl’s major donor and planned giving programs. The Director of Development has the ultimate responsibility for strategic program development, annual goal setting, budget preparation, and the organization and implementation of a comprehensive and ongoing fundraising program.
As a senior manager who reports to the President, the Director of Development will work with key staff, members of the Board of Directors and volunteers to analyze, coordinate, implement and develop planning efforts to achieve maximum results. This position will also be responsible for building and leading a team of regional field staff as the organization grows. Some travel will be necessary. Candidates should possess the leadership, communication and external relations skills necessary to ensure success of a results-oriented development program.
Requirements include a bachelor’s degree and a successful track record in personal solicitation. Some combination of experience in annual fund; capital campaign; grants; planned giving; membership; and high level special event fundraising is preferred. The Director of Development must be articulate, confident, personable, and must project the image of a mature professional. A high level of personal motivation, initiative, and creativity is essential.
