![]() Troy D. Reno |
Chief Operating Officer Troy Reno was born in Northwest Wyoming. His father and grandfather introduced him to fishing and hunting at an early age. Since that introduction, he has continued to pursue the outdoors at a vigorous pace. Waterfowling came into the picture upon his arrival on the central North Dakota prairies as a teenager. From his very first duck hunt on a cold and blustery October morning in a mallard-laden slough, he was hooked. After receiving his Bachelor of Administration in accounting from the University of North Dakota, Troy worked as an internal auditor and operations officer at a commercial bank for three years. Wanting a career more in line with his life interests, Troy returned to school and received his Bachelor of Science in biology from Wichita State University. From there he entered graduate school in wildlife biology at Utah State University. It was during this time that he became a student research assistant at the Delta Waterfowl Research Station in Manitoba. “After spending that summer studying waterfowl and learning about the mission of Delta Waterfowl, I knew that this was an organization that I wanted to be intimately involved with. My dream has come full circle now that I am part of an organization filled with people so passionate about conserving the waterfowl resource that I love, and passing our hunting traditions down to future generations.” Troy lives in the heart of duck country, Bismarck ND, with his wife Claudette and three children, Brenden, Chantalle and Trevor. “The family labs, Mosely and Britta, along with my wonderful wife and children, make every year one long joyous occasion, especially that part known as hunting season.” |

![]() John Devney |
Senior Vice President John grew up just outside of St. Paul, MN where he was introduced to hunting and fishing by his father Jack. From an early age (he started shadowing his father on duck hunts since age 4) John became an obsessed waterfowler. Starting with ventures north to pursue bluebills on the once great diver lakes of Lake of the Woods, Leech and Big Winnie, John got hooked on chasing the black and white speedsters on big water. John graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in government and philosophy from St. John’s University in Minnesota. Prior to coming to Delta he worked in the sporting goods and marine industries with a background in sales and marketing. John lives just outside Bismarck with his wife Carmen and labs Finnegan and Seamus. John’s true passion is for waterfowl hunting but also spends time afield pursuing upland birds, turkeys and deer as well as fly fishing for trout and walleyes and bass. According to John, "It is great to live in a place where I have the opportunity to spend so much time with the birds I love from the breeding season right through to watching them from a duck blind, and it is truly rewarding to work for an organization that has contributed so much to the waterfowl resource and the sport of waterfowl hunting. |
