Delta Easement Program Protecting Critical Wetlands
Small wetlands don't have many friends.
Developers curse them. The courts consistently rule against them. Tractors get stuck in them. Congress is always looking for excuses to drain them.
Even the grand poobah of a prominent conservation organization dis'ed small wetlands, calling them "bathtubs". Ouch.

Delta Supports Clean Water Restoration Act - Hunters Urged to Contact Representatives
Delta Waterfowl President Rob Olson has a message for sportsmen and women concerned about the future of duck hunting: It's time to speak out - loudly, clearly and as soon as possible.
Olson urges Delta members and waterfowl hunters nationwide to contact their representatives in Congress in support of the Clean Water Restoration Act of 2007, a bill that would protect millions of acres of small, isolated wetlands so critical for duck production.
If you haven't already done so please contract your representatives today.
by Rob Olson, Delta President
My first memory of hunting was back in the early 1970s. I was hidden under some wheat straw in a large stack of the earthy-smelling stuff with my father, uncle and some of their friends.
Our quarry was Canada geese, and I could tell this was serious business from the tone in my dad's voice when he cautioned, "don't move". Back then, honkers weren't as abundant as they are today.
I remember my dad's eyes getting very big as the birds approached. He was "calling the shot" for the group and was looking out over the field. I saw his hands grip tighter on his pump shotgun, and even though this was my first dance, I knew what the song promised next.

Delta Opposes Proposed Reduction in Scaup Limit
BISMARCK, N.D. - Delta Waterfowl has expressed strong opposition to a proposal by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that would reduce the daily bag limit on scaup from two birds to one beginning with the coming hunting season.
In a letter to Division of Migratory Bird Management Chief Robert Blohm, Delta President Rob Olson wrote, "We believe further reducing the scaup limit is unnecessary and the wrong decision for scaup and scaup hunters."
