1st Place - "Morning Reflections"

by Joshua Sasser
I took this photo on January 8, 2006. This is a pothole a friend and I hunt regularly in the Camp Beauregard WMA in Deville, Louisiana. I love the way the sun reflects off the water and the view of the fog among the cypress trees. I love just seeing the view and waiting on the ducks' arrival. My friend and I managed to get a limit that day.

2nd Place - "Flat Fork Sunrise"

by John Overholt
This photo, which I'll call "Flat Fork Sunrise" was taken Jan. 15, 2006 from a blind in Flat Fork Creek near Wheatley, AR. We didn't see many ducks that day, but seeing that sunrise was better than bagging a limit.

3rd Place - "Sunrise Silhouettes"

by Jim Thompson Jr.
I always strive to put my subjects in a setting that compliments their existence. Sunrises like these are few and far between, let alone, getting birds to enter the frame at the right time. Ten minutes from my destination I could see the horizon developing. I raced to get there and pulled my camera out in just the nick of time. Five minutes was all I had. I thank God for moments like this.
