Layout Boats
Q: Can kayaks be used for effective sneak boats or layout boats? I have a tan sit on top, and if I do use it as a sneak boat, should I brush it? Thanks in advance. - Thomas Jenkins
A: Any low profile boat will make an excellent hide for late season wary birds especially when you can effectively cover it with grass, brush or other local vegetation. They will provide you with the mobility and cover to get ducks in tight and over the blocks. The flexibility afforded by being mobile and going to the birds will provide you with a great advantage over those fixed to permanent blind sites especially when late season birds are wary and have seen it all. Give the kayak a try, carry a few high quality decoys, scout the birds up and have at it! Best of luck!
