In a team effort, but Prince Edward Island Chapter members came together to introduce 120 kids to the outdoors during the annual Youth Waterfowl Workshop in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, Canada.
Committee members Kevin Arsenault and Eric Paynter put on calling lessons for ducks, geese and predators. Additional courses included survival map and compass, firearms handling, conservation, archery, enforcement, waterfowl identification, retriever demonstration, and ATV and boat safety.
After drawing his name from a hat, the PEI Chapter surprised Jesse Gallant with an Escort 20-gauge pump shotgun. Ben MacQuarrie was the lucky winner of a dozen Buck Gardner Pro Series mallard decoys. Every youth went home with a Delta Waterfowl hat and duck call.
“Many thanks to the volunteers, and especially the province of PEI for all the support,” Paynter said. “They made the day run smooth.”
