Mossy Oak Supports Two Delta Research Projects
Mossy Oak President Bill Suggs says he’s excited about the ongoing research partnership. “Delta Waterfowl has a long and storied legacy of conducting leading waterfowl research and we are proud to partner with Delta and honored to be supporting these two fine young men as they help us answer important questions about duck breeding ecology and waterfowl management,” Suggs said.
Dassow’s project will evaluate the effectiveness of predator management on ducks in the parkland ecosystem in Saskatchewan, while Docken’s work will concentrate on both ducks and pheasants in South Dakota. “These are important projects to help us further understand the outcomes we can expect from the application of predator management,” said Delta’s Senior Vice President John Devney. “And we are grateful for Mossy Oak’s support in putting these projects on the groundit is a unique partnership, and one we are very proud of.” Both Dassow and Docken are life-long hunters who have developed their passion for waterfowl research through their experiences as hunters. Docken, who grew up in Wisconsin, says that his work on ducks and pheasants is a dream come true. “As a kid I had an insatiable appetite to learn more about the game I pursued and my research gets me into the field every day with nesting birds and satisfies that hunger for information,” he said. “My project can help waterfowl and pheasant management in the future and that is extremely gratifying.” For more information, visit www.deltawaterfowl.org or www.mossyoak.com. |
