Delta Staff Rates Best, Worst-Eating Birds

Ask most hunters to rate the eating quality of waterfowl and chances are most would place the mallard at the top of their list.

We asked some of Delta’s staff members to rate their favorite, second favorite, least favorite, most over-rated and most under-rated birds. Would you believe nearly half said the mallard was the most over-rated bird on the table? They didn’t say mallard wasn’t a good-eating bird—it was one of the top staff vote-getters—just that it was over-rated compared to some other birds.
